Johnston Press is attempting to sell off some of its newspapers to help it pay off the heavy debts that have led investors to doubt its ability to withstand sliding sales. The publisher of the Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post said it was talking to potential buyers of titles which have not shown sufficient signs of digital growth. The announcement came in a trading update that showed digital revenue growth of 12% was a long way short of making up for the 12% fall in print advertising and 7% drop in circulation revenues.
