Upsight Acquires Fuse Powered, Ups Monetization For Mobile Games

Upsight, an enterprise analytics firm, announced the acquisition of Fuse Powered, a mobile supply side (SSP) monetization and ad mediation platform, this week. Utilizing Upsight’s marketing automation platform and Fuse Powered’s ad mediation platform, Upsight will be able to offer monetization solutions to mobile game developers for both ads and in-app purchases.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Annually, Upsight already tracks and optimizes $2 billion in commerce revenue. However, states Upsight CEO Andy Yang: “Ad revenue has become an increasingly critical component of the mobile ecosystem for publishers to monetize users. With Fuse, we now complete the entire revenue picture and can help our customers achieve harmony between the two streams."

The mobile gaming field is driving growth for the gaming industry. The mobile sector should swell from $35 billion this year to $48 billion by 2020, according to a forecast from tech advisory firm Digi-Capital.

Smartphones and tablets are expected to become the biggest gaming platforms this year, overtaking traditional gaming platforms and desktop computers.

Upsight and Fuse Powered’s own growth corroborates the massive expansion expected in the gaming industry with a combined revenue increase of 447% from 2013-2015.

Fuse Powered’s neutrality as a mediation platform also works in Upsight’s favor, allowing the customers to win based on performance and deliver ads from just about any network in the space.

The combination of ad exchange and mobile marketing automation puts Upsight in direct competition with Tapjoy, which offers a similar solution.
