Trisha Pierce Promoted To President At DC Agency SmithGifford


Washington DC-based ad agency SmithGifford has appointed Trisha Pierce as president, a new position at the shop. According to the agency Pierce is credited with driving significant growth at the firm and represents the next generation of leadership at the agency. 

In her new role, Pierce will oversee client relations and operations on all agency accounts and will continue to oversee new business efforts. She’ll report to agency founder and CEO Matt Smith. 

Pierce joined the agency in 2010 as an account supervisor. Most recently she was director of account services and head of business development. Last year the shop had a banner year, winning new assignments from Robert Wood Johnson Health, MyEyeDr., The Nature Conservancy, Wright Manufacturing and Community Three Development.

Smith said he was pleased to able to select someone from inside the agency to fill the new president’s role. Pierce, he added, “excels at operating efficiently on both a micro and macro level, envisioning the big picture of our clients’ success while tracking every detail. Under her leadership, the account team makes sure all creative is strategically aligned with client goals and overall communications.”

Pierce joined SmithGifford from the Toro Group in Reston, VA, where she worked as VP of business development, and prior to that she worked in business development for Xerox Corp.  She has worked for brands in numerous categories including automotive (Ford), banking, food & beverage, healthcare, education, nonprofit, retail and technology.
