Adobe Goes Paperless

Adobe announced the expansion of its Document Cloud service on Tuesday with key integrations between Box and Microsoft, as well as added functionality between Adobe Sign and the Adobe Marketing Cloud.

Based on its previous eSign service, Adobe has unveiled a new electronic signature and form filling application dubbed Adobe Sign.

Adobe Sign can be integrated with Adobe Marketing Cloud’s Experience Manager Forms, and the company also released Android and iOS mobile application for sending, signing and organizing digital documents. Adobe is surging forward with digital document management, creating an efficiency boosting service with a touch-friendly mobile.

By leveraging Adobe Sign’s new integration with Adobe’s Marketing Cloud, Adobe customers can offer a more personalized experience around form-filling.

For example, automated email campaigns could be triggered by a customer filling out a form and signing up for a credit card.

“Being able to create a great digital experiences isn’t just a nice idea, its critical to business,” says Mark Grilli, vice president of product marketing at Adobe. “Companies wont be here if they don’t transform.”

Adobe also announced new partner integrations that allow users to continue using the same tools they already use instead of shifting all gears towards Adobe.

Adobe announced support for both Box and Microsoft OneDrive, which will allow Document Cloud users to access files stored in third-party services. For example, documents stored in Box will now be accessible from Adobe’s Acrobat Reader.

In addition, Adobe integrated Dropbox into the Document Cloud partner ecosystem last year. Adobe Document Cloud is also compatible with Salesforce.

“Frankly, there are systems of record,” says Grilli. “Customers don’t want to change the way they work, but they do want to connect the dots.”

Grilli says that Adobe’s partner-oriented approach aims to take out any additional clicks or processes that could alter a customer’s experience. By connecting various data points, documents and workflows, brands can offer a more cohesive experience for employees, clients and potential customers alike.

Adobe also announced new European data centers to meet European legal requirements for electronic signatures, as well as plans to expand to Asia-Pacific and Japan by the end of 2016.
