AppNexus Names AJ Kintner To Sales Post Ahead Of A New Buy-Side Offering

AppNexus on Thursday named AJ Kintner to a high-ranking sales post as it prepares to launch a new buy-side initiative. The ad tech provider appointed Kintner to the role of VP of Sales, Americas, for its Advertiser Technology Group (ATG), according to a release.

Kintner is tasked with reintroducing AppNexus’ demand side platform (DSP) to marketers and agencies in the Americas. His hire comes on the heels of the appointment of former Microsoft executive Owen Sagness as VP of sales in Europe. Kintner will report to Marcus Startzel, chief revenue officer, DSP.

Prior to joining AppNexus, Kintner served as VP, strategic and platform sales at DoubleVerify, where he helped networks integrate and implement DoubleVerify data directly into buying platforms. Previously he was VP of sales at Adaptly.

"Over the past eighteen months, AppNexus has placed a great deal of public emphasis on its publisher suite," stated Startzel. "That gave our Advertiser Technology Group time to make major investments in our DSP technology and service offering. We plan to make a very aggressive sales and thought leadership push in the DSP space over the months to come as the era of programmable marketing comes to fruition."
