Shock Top Sending Adults To Summer Camp

Summer camps for adults are a growing draw, thanks to all of the grown-ups who either loved the camp experience as a kid and want to relive it, or loathed it and want a “do over.”

Anheuser-Busch’s Shock Top is hopping (so to speak) on the trend by partnering with Camp No Counselors, and working with an experiential team from Anomoly, to run its own adult camp this summer.

Through a photo contest, the brand will select 1,000 adults to attend Camp Shock Top.

The camp, which will be hosted at four locations outside of New York, Austin, Miami and Los Angeles, will ,of course, feature cabins and activities including archery, volleyball, trampoline jumping, tie-dying and “color wars.”

But this time around, campers will have ample access to the host ale, and they won’t be constrained by curfews as they take part in campy evening entertainment like campfire parties and talent shows. They’ll also be treated to “gourmet” versions of classic camp meals and treats.

Shock Top VP Jake Kirsch said that the camp will bring to life the brand’s messages of “living life unfiltered” and “embracing real talk and experiences without pretension or labels.”

The camp theme will also be integrated into the brand’s other events across the country over the summer, through attractions such as a Shock Top Slip ‘N Slide.

Brand representative T.J. Miller of “Silicon Valley” fame is pitching in to promote the camp, and has said that he’s eager to attend Shock Top Camp, assuming his other commitments allow.

To enter the contest for attending the camp, those 21 and older can text CAMP to shortcode 55999 and follow the instructions to upload a photo of how they "live life unfiltered," or just visit CampShockTop.com to submit a photo on the theme.
