Deloitte's Heat Expands To New York

San Francisco-based digital agency Heat is opening up a New York office and has hired Tim Maleeny to run it as general manager and Chief Strategy Officer.

Word of the expansion comes just a couple of months after the agency was acquired by  the digital division of consulting giant Deloitte.

Maleeny joins the agency from Havas Worldwide, where he’s been Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Partner in New York. Prior to that he was Head of Strategic Planning for Ogilvy & Mather, and before that he ran strategy and new business for Hal Riney & Partners in San Francisco.

In a blog posted on its site, the agency stated that it has “searched far and wide for an accomplished leader to run the show in New York,” and that Maleeny “fits right in with the Heat sensibility and family and he understands our vision for the union of the opposite coasts.

While managing New York Maleeny will coordinate business development efforts with San Francisco based director of marketing and dommunications Teri Miller.

"Tim’s reputation in the industry is unmatched, and we’re looking forward to his insights and direction. He understands how we operate as an agency, and we’re really happy to have someone on the East Coast who is as experienced and skilled as Tim,” stated John Elder, Heat’s president.
