Homeland Security Names Adware Exec To Privacy Committee

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security this week appointed D. Reed Freeman, chief privacy officer of adware company Claria Corp., to the government's Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee. The committee is charged with advising Department of Homeland Security officials on privacy-related issues. Freeman, appointed to a four-year term, will be one of 20 committee members.
