180LA is naming Karan Dang as its first digital creative director to push a digital-first approach within the agency and for clients.
This new position was needed given the agency’s growing number of digitally-focused creative projects.
Dang's background made him well-suited for this role. The industry veteran has more than nine years of experience as a creative director working on campaigns for Sprint, Target, Taco Bell and Volkswagen, among others.
Prior to joining 180LA Dang was with DeutschLA. Earlier he spent time at TBWA and JWT.
“Karan is all about digital first,” said William Gelner, CCO and managing partner of 180LA. “He brings new thinking to 180LA that will accentuate what we do best – cutting-edge, digitally focused creative.”
Dang will oversee a team of five and report to Gelner. He will be based in Santa Monica, CA.
