Tru Optik Taps Scott As CRO

Looking to boost its TV media executive ranks, Tru Optik, audience measurement and data platform, has hired former Cox Media executive, Michael Scott, as its chief revenue officer.

Using his linear TV and digital marketing and media experience, Scott will be responsible for all sales and marketing operations for Tru Optik's data segments and analytics platforms.

Scott was previously senior vp of strategic partnerships for Cox Media Group’s Gamut, a service for publishers and advertisers providing open exchange, private marketplace and direct media platforms.

Because the company has many large partnerships and client relationships, Andre Swanston, CEO/co-founder of Tru Optik, stated that it had reached a point where it needed a senior executive to manage its team and opportunities.

Scott’s experience at Gamat included managing all revenue from DSPs and agency trading desks, as well as direct business with major ad agencies, credited to have grown revenue by nearly 20%.

Before Gamat, Scott was managing director, ad intelligence for Ebiquity, an advertising consultancy practice. He also owned content marketing businesses/agencies -- Fourth Element Group and MacDuff Inc.

Tru Optik claims it is the only audience measurement and data management platform built for OTT. Recently, Tru Optik named Marshall Cohen to its Board of Advisors; Cohen ran consumer research departments at MTV Networks and AOL.
