David Carr's 'Night Of The Gun' To Run Six Nights On AMC

AMC is developing a six-part miniseries adaptation of late New York Times media critic David Carr’s memoir, “The Night of the Gun.”

The series -- in which actor Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul,” “Breaking Bad”) will portray Carr, who died last year -- does not yet have an air date.

The book takes place during a low point in Carr’s live when he was addicted to crack and was soul-searching about his life and career as a journalist.

"It's a story of survival filled with pain, crack, journalistic righteousness, abandoned cars, crooks, lies, and then there's the two little girls who saved his life; it's overstuffed with humanity,” Odenkirk said in a statement announcing the project.
