Q4 Newspaper Ad Spending Rises 4.2%

Newspaper ad spending rose 4.2 percent to $13.7 billion during the fourth quarter of 2004, according to data compiled by the Newspaper Association of America. Classified ads led the way with a 5.2 percent increase to $5.1 billion. National ad spending increased 3.6 percent to $2.2 billion and retail spending rose 3.7 percent to $6.5 billion.
