Franklin To Head CBS Television Distribution

Fox syndication veteran Paul Franklin has been named president of CBS Television Distribution.

Franklin will oversee all operations for CBS’s domestic syndication company, which includes syndicated shows “Judge Judy”, “Entertainment Tonight”, “Dr. Phil,”  “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” among others.

Armando Nuñez, who has led both CBS Television Distribution and CBS Studios International for the past four years, will now have sole focus as president/chief executive officer of CBS Studios International.

Franklin will report directly to Leslie Moonves, chairman/chief executive officer of CBS Corp.

For the past 10 years, Franklin had been executive vp/general sales manager for 20th Television and the national programming service, MyNetworkTV. His responsibilities included all broadcast syndication program sales for the studio and distribution deals for MyNetworkTV.

He was responsible for syndication launches including “Modern Family,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Last Man Standing” and “Family Guy,” and helped lead MyNetworkTV distribution, programming, and brand strategy for its 180 affiliates.

Overall, Franklin has had a 28-year career at 20th Century Fox, holding various senior-level national and regional sales positions for a wide variety of off-network and first-run programming and feature films. 

CBS says that over the past four years, Nuñez nearly doubled CBS International revenue growth.
