On Friday, Time Inc. divided its magazine titles into four categories on the business side: Celebrity, Entertainment and Style; News and Luxury; Lifestyle; and Sports. Each group will have a general manager, who will report to new president of brands Rich Battista.
This new structure will eliminate group president roles. (As a result, MaryAnn Bekkedahl, who headed the fashion and luxury group, recently left the company).

According to WWD, Meredith Long has been promoted to SVP/GM of the News and Luxury group, which includes Time, Fortune, Money, Motto, Time for Kids, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine and Departures. She was previously the group publisher of Time, Fortune and Money.
According to a memo from Battista, Time Inc. is recruiting a senior vice president and general manager for the Lifestyle group.
Battista will continue to oversee the Celebrity, Entertainment and Style and Sports groups "for the foreseeable future."
General managers will “work closely with all departments across the company — editorial, digital, business development, sales, finance, video and marketing/communications — to manage the brands, develop strategies and drive incremental revenue and profits through new businesses and platforms and brand extensions,” Battista wrote in the memo.
Susan Parkes was also promoted to the role of SVP of brand marketing and communications. Bruce Gersh will become SVP of business development.
When the new structure was announced last week, Time editor Nancy Gibbs was promoted to the new position of editorial director of the News group. People editor Jess Cagle will serve as editorial director of the Celebrity, Entertainment and Style Group. Chris Stone will be in charge of the Sports Group and Travel & Leisure editor Nathan Lump will be the editorial director of the Lifestyle Group. Michael Duffy is editorial director across the entire company.
