Lexus, Comedy Central Debut 'Junketeers'

Lexus is teaming with Comedy Central and Kids at Play for a comedy called “Junketeers.”

The eight-episode scripted series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the absurd world of celebrity correspondents. All episodes are available to binge watch on L/Studio, the Lexus-owned digital content channel.

Brian Unger, Austin Lyon and Phil Augusta Jackson star as roving press junket reporters covering the next big film. Guest appearances include Josh Duhamel, Kristen Bell and Chloe Grace Moretz as caricatures of themselves during awkward press interviews. “Junketeers” was created by actual entertainment TV correspondents Josh Horowitz and Ben Lyons as a satirical love letter to their long-time profession.

L/Studio offers a diverse collection of engaging content that appeals to a broad demographic, says Andrea Lim, Lexus digital communications manager.

“Lexus is always looking for unique ways to connect with our customers,” Lim tells Marketing Daily. “Comedy programs like ‘Junketeers’ reflect the innovation and creativity of the Lexus brand through entertaining and high-caliber content.”

L/Studio uniquely provides a platform to support passion projects, giving artists the opportunity to showcase their perspectives, Lim says.

“Working with the creative team behind ‘Junketeers’ demonstrates Lexus’ dedication to supporting bold and diverse programs,” she adds.

Currently in its seventh year, the Lexus-owned digital content channel L/Studio hosts an eclectic collection of programming designed to engage audiences outside of the traditional automotive encounter. Notable recent projects include the mockumentary live-action series "Cop Show" starring Colin Quinn, with a third season debuting this summer, and inspirational docuseries "It Got Better." L/Studio also has archived original work from the worlds of art, fashion, science and architecture.
