Martinez To Oversee 'InStyle,' 'StyleWatch'

Time Inc. has named Kevin Martinez vice president and group sales director of InStyle and StyleWatch.

Martinez, who most recently served as publisher and chief revenue officer of Maxim, succeeds Patrick Connors, who has decided to leave the company to “pursue new opportunities,” according to a statement. Connors’ last day is August 24.

"I am extremely proud of the extraordinary work of the entire team and the great progress we have made in developing InStyle's business across multiple platforms with the successful launches of the InStyle Collection and the InStyle Awards," stated Connors.

Connors’ departure follows a lot of changes for InStyle and Time Inc. this year. In July, InStyle’s editor-in-chief Ariel Foxman left the magazine after 15 years at Time Inc. and eight years at InStyle. The company has yet to name a replacement.

Later that month, Time Inc. said it was consolidating the organization of its sales and marketing teams and eliminating the role of publisher.

And in March, Time Inc. announced plans to combine xoJane, xoVain, Mimi and The Outfit under the newly formed InStyle Collection to beef up InStyle’s digital presence. InStyle Collection doubled the volume of original content on InStyle.com by increasing the amount of content it syndicates from Jane Pratt's xoJane and xoVain, which Time bought in October 2015.

Before Maxim, Martinez served as publisher of the now-shuttered Details and Elle, as well as worked in several senior roles at Harper's Bazaar, Esquire and The New York Times.
