After nearly five years at the helm of Fox Entertainment, Gail Berman is leaving her post as president to take a new creative position at Paramount Pictures, sources said Tuesday. A Paramount
spokeswoman said: "Paramount Pictures is in discussions with Gail Berman for a senior creative role at the studio. We hope to conclude the discussions shortly. Ms. Berman is one of the most talented
executives in the entertainment industry, with great relationships, exceptional taste, and an amazing creative track record. She would be a great addition to the Paramount team." Fox declined to
comment. Berman's contract was due to expire this year, and she had been in the middle of negotiations with Fox executives. She came to Fox in July 2000 from production company Regency TV. Before
that, Berman was president of Sandollar TV, where she served as an executive producer on shows such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Berman started her career as a theatrical producer on Broadway before
joining the Comedy Channel in 1990. -- D.K.
