Shinola Plans Hotel For Downtown Detroit

Shinola, best known for its high-end wrist watches, and Bedrock are planning the first Shinola Hotel, located in downtown Detroit. Bedrock and Dan Gilbert, the chairman and founder of Rock Ventures and Quicken Loans Inc., bought the building in 2013. Built in 1915 as a hardware store, the building was most recently home to Eastern Wig and Hair Co.
