Dentsu Aegis Acquires Wasabi Analytics


In a bid to bolster to its digital presence in France, Dentsu Aegis Network has acquired Paris-based web analytics company Wasabi Analytics. Terms weren’t disclosed. 

Founded in 2010, Wasabi is a specialist in user behavior based on analysis of web server logs, including analyses of logs for ad-delivery servers. 

According to Dentsu, Wasabi is the only independent company certified as a Google Analytics Premium Authorized Reseller in France. 

With the acquisition, Wasabi will be aligned with Dentsu global search agency iProspect.

Wasabi clients include BNP Paribas, Virgin Mobile and Le Coq Sportif. 

In its latest media expenditure forecast released last month, Dentsu media agency Carat reported that digital advertising expenditures in France have surpassed television ad spend, showing growth of 5.5% in 2015. Continued digital growth in the country is expected in the next couple of years including 5.6% forecast for 2016 and 5.0% for 2017.
