Mediaocean Enables Direct Access To Katz's Grit, Escape Network Inventory

In a move that will help reduce the demand-side workflow associated with buying long-tail digital spectrum TV networks, Katz Broadcasting and Mediaocean announced a deal providing direct access to Katz’s Grit and Escape network advertising inventory through Mediaocean’s Spectra media-buying management system.

While not an end-to-end programmatic media-buying solution, the move will greatly automate the ability of agency media buyers to access inventory on the networks, which are distributed across the digital spectrum of local TV stations, but are owned and operated by Katz.

Grit, which targets men 25-54 and features Western and action-oriented movies, reaches 108 million U.S. TV households, or about 93% national coverage.

Escape, which targets women 25-54 and features crime and mystery programming, reaches 99 million homes and has a coverage of about 85%.

Both networks recently began reporting national C3 ratings via Nielsen.

Mediaocean’s Spectra platform enables agencies to research, buy and manage schedules across linear media through user’s desktop, mobile, tablet and even their “home entertainment systems,” according to Mediaocean.

Spectra offers agencies a complete set of tools to research, buy, manage, and derive intelligence across all linear media.
