Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology, a Chinese electronics component manufacturer, has revealed that its products accidentally led the massive attack that shut down a number of major internet sites in the U.S. on Friday. The company, which manufacturers DVRs and internet-connected cameras, revealed that security vulnerabilities such as weak default passwords in were part of the issue. The attack made sites including: Spotify, Netflix, and Twitter, among others go offline for several hours for many users on the East Coast.
