DMA Welcomes Tougher ICO Line On Privacy Infringements

The DMA welcomes the news that the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) will, from spring 2017 on, be able to hold rogue directors personally responsible for breaches under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Rogue directors could therefore receive a fine of up to GBP500,000 each. A powerful deterrent to those considering flagrantly breaking the rules.
