Buzz Marketer Association Touts Massachusetts Bill

  • April 6, 2005
The Viral and Buzz Marketing Association Tuesday announced its support for a proposed bill in Massachusetts that would stop word-of-mouth marketers from recruiting children under the age of 16 to participate in their campaigns. The bill, sponsored by State Representative Mike Festa, a Democrat, would require marketers to gain parental permission before recruiting children under 16 to participate in a "sales force network," which includes a word-of-mouth marketing scheme. The proposed legislation was filed late last month.
