Students Can't Distinguish Between Real, Fake News Stories

Further complicating the rise of “fake news,” researchers at the Stanford Graduate School of Education have been “shocked” by results in a study that showed that middle school, high school and college students are largely unable to tell the difference between real and fake news stories.

"Many assume that because young people are fluent in social media they are equally savvy about what they find there," they wrote. "Our work shows the opposite."
