Bloomberg Names Lynn Global Chief Creative Officer

Bloomberg Media has hired Teddy Lynn to become its global chief creative officer.

Lynn will report to COO Jacki Kelley, and begins early 2017. He will be responsible for leading Bloomberg Media's global creative team, which develops and creates custom executions for brands. The team of editors, copywriters, designers and producers will “build campaigns and experiences for brands that support Bloomberg Media’s advertising and marketing service initiatives,” according to the company.

Lynn will also work on “defining and sourcing feature content to expand Bloomberg Media’s influence, reach and revenue.”

This fall, Bloomberg Media has expanded its marketing services capabilities with the hiring of two former executives of Japanese advertising and public relations firm Dentsu. In October, Steven Feuling, who was CEO of Dentsu-owned Vizeum, became global head of marketing services to lead Bloomberg’s newly formed business-to-business marketing services group. In August, Bloomberg Media tapped former chief insight officer at Dentsu Michelle Lynn as global head of data science and insights.

“In 2017 we are launching ambitious plans to expand our creative, marketing services and custom content capabilities,” stated Bloomberg Media CEO Justin B. Smith.

According to a statement, Bloomberg’s global advertising revenue has grown more than 8% year-to-date through the end of September, compared to the same time period last year.

Lynn was previously North American chief creative officer of content & social at New York City-based advertising, marketing and PR agency Ogilvy & Mather. Before working in advertising, Lynn was a film, TV and music video producer.

Lynn also co-founded IPG’s Mediabrands Publishing.
