Russian hackers broke into email accounts linked to the Republican National Committee (RNC). However, the agency was not concerned, and neither were federal authorities
because the systems were outdated. One of the emails that was hacked into belonged to an employee that hasn't worked at the RNC for several years. A private security firm hired by the RNC
determined that the former employee's email account was still on his personal computer, however the device was not connected to the hack.
