Los Angeles County Victimized in Phishing Attack

Los Angeles county's government is the victim of a data breach. The attack potentially exposed the personal information or confidential health data of some 756,000 people that have had business with Los Angeles county departments. The L.A. County District Attorney has filed criminal charges against a Nigerian national who allegedly launched the phishing attack.
