UK Government Disappointed in EU Data Collection Law

The UK government has spoken out against the European Court's decision that the "indiscriminate" collection of data is against EU law. According to the ruling, communications data can now only be retained if it is part of crime fighting. The decision came in response to the UK government's challenge to surveillance legislation.
