Davler Media Acquires Mommybites.com, Expands Parenting Titles

Davler Media Group has acquired Mommybites.com, a site dedicated to parents of toddlers and young children.

Mommybites cofounder Laura Deutsch said the company felt it needed “a good ally to take Mommybites to the next level.”

Deutsch created Mommybites in 2006 to provide parenting resources for Manhattan moms.

Davler Media’s CEO David Miller state: “Mommybites will continue to run just as it always has, but it will have the opportunity for greater growth, via aggressive promotion through our seven regional parenting titles, our email marketing, events, companion Web sites and more.”

Mommybites will be added to Davler Media’s regional parenting titles — part of its NYMetroParents’ portfolio of magazines. They include Big Apple Parent, Brooklyn Parent, Long Island Parent - Nassau edition, Long Island Parent - Suffolk edition, Queens Parent, Rockland Parent and Westchester Parent. Along with the NYMetroParents.com site, this portfolio reaches about 1 million parents monthly.

The company also announced that Rebecca Dixon, Mommybites’ current managing editor, will take over as head of the site.

In 2009, Deutsch partnered with Heather Ouida and relaunched the site. The brand now has more than 250 live seminars, or tele-classes, sponsored by advertisers such as Motts, Britax, Happy Family, Buy Buy Baby, Lansinoh, The Honest Company and Babies R Us.

Other features of Mommybites.com include a mom-generated Nanny Board, with 100+ nanny listings, free online parent classes and podcasts, weekly newsletter, live events business, articles from experts and a “jobs for moms” portal.

Last month, Davler Media announced it was launching an LGBTQ media brand called Exuberance in the spring of 2017, as a spinoff of its New York Spaces interior design title.
