Consumers Think Brands Are Responsible for Data Breaches

Fifty-eight percent of consumers fear they will be victims of an online data breach, according to a new report from Gemalto. According to the report, some 66 percent of these consumers said they probably wouldn't continue to do business with a company responsible for exposing their sensitive information. Some 70 percent of respondents said that companies should be responsible for protecting and securing customer data. Still only 29 percent of consumers think that companies take security in this matter very seriously.
