NFL Sponsors Spend A Record $1.25 Billion

TV ratings may have been down, but sponsors and marketing partners still saw a bevy of reasons to put their money into the NFL to the tune of $1.25B this past season — up 4.3% over 2015 but behind the 4.7% increase in overall sports spending, according to research firm IEG. The beer, auto and insurance categories led the charge.
