Equity Firm Invests $20 Million In Adware Purveyor

Private equity firm ABS Capital Partners invested $20 million in equity in adware company WhenU.com Inc, the companies announced Tuesday. Last October, Ralph Terkowitz, a general partner at ABS Capital Partners, joined WhenU's board of directors. Terkowitz also is the former CEO of WashingtonPost.com and current vice-chairman of TrustE, a nonprofit organization that gives a seal of approval to companies it believes respect the online privacy of consumers. WhenU intends to use the funds to expand its sales and marketing force, among other initiatives. --W.D.
