Report: Online Displaces TV, Newspapers As Favored News Source

The number of online adults who prefer the Internet as their main source of news has grown by more than 35 percent over the last four years -- mainly at the expense of television and newspapers - concludes a report released Tuesday by JupiterResearch. The study estimates that more than 26 percent of online adults currently prefer the Internet for national and international news, which compares with 19 percent in 2001. -- J.M.
