Judge Rejects Settlement in Google Email Scanning Case

A federal judge has rejected a proposed legal settlement that would have resulted in $2.2 million being paid to lawyers, but nothing to consumers who had the contents of their email scanned by Google without their permission, Fortune reports. The case concerns whether Google violated California’s privacy laws.
