Eleven charities have been fined by the ICO for a range of issues, including contacting lapsed donors without permission and pooling data illegally. The ICO pointed out that the fines -- which ranged
from GBP6,000 to GBP18,000 -- were kept low because the transgressors were charities, reliant on public donations.
