Looking for closer association with TV marketers branded program content needs, an NBCUniversal special unit and Broadway Video will produce original brand-owned comedy content -- for all linear and digital platforms.
The companies say the deal will give marketers access to an “always-on” team of writers, directors, and producers from Broadway Video.
Jeep will be the NBCU Content Studio and Broadway Video’s first client to launch a new Jeep Compass.
The NBCU Content Studio, launched in March 2016, was created to offer brand storytelling across all genres, formats and platforms. NBC says brands can use its partnerships with Apple News, BuzzFeed, Snapchat and Vox Media, as well as the company’s advanced advertising capabilities.
Broadway Video produces TV and movies, including “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” and “Portlandia.”
Before NBCU Content Studio, NBC had developed custom short- and long-form content for a number of advertising clients.
This list includes Amazon, Fiat and Paramount’s “Zoolander 2,” as well as integrated partnerships between Kohl’s and Nissan and NBC’s “The Voice”; Citi and The “Today” Concert Series; GE and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”; and Comcast, Samsung, Toyota for USA Network’s comedy “Playing House.”
