Yahoo! Tuesday said it hired Larry Tesler, a established design engineer at Amazon.com, as vice president of its software design group. Tesler, who will also serve as a research fellow for
"human-computer interaction" at Yahoo! research labs, will be based in Sunnyvale, Calif., and report to Yahoo!'s chief product officer, Geoff Ralston. Until last month, Tesler served as vice president
in charge of improving the "shopping experience" of consumers at Amazon. Previously, he held positions at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center and Apple Computer.
