Food Network has updated its Alexa app (or so-called "skill") for use with Amazon Echo Show, the new Alexa-enabled device with a screen. Consumers can now search for, and view, the network's recipe videos and images without touching any screens.

“Alexa, ask Food Network for vegan mushroom recipes,” a user says, and the Echo Show will come up with answers to satisfy. Users can also have the full recipe emailed to them to try on their own.

The app's "visual and video components... adds an entertaining aspect to their recipe browsing,”  stated Liesel Kipp, vice president of product management at Scripps Lifestyle Studios, the digital division of Scripps Networks Interactive in charge of Food Network’s digital initiatives
