PIA Agency Expands To Portland

PIA Agency is expanding to Portland, Oregon, its third office. The shop also has operations in San Diego and San Francisco.

The women-owned agency counts tech giant HP among its clients, and the firm has a significant presence in Oregon. This expansion will help serve that client relationship, as well as make it easier to work with brands based in the Northwest region of the country.

The decision to expand to Portland rather than Seattle was also based, in part, on the potential accessibility to top industry talent. Case in point: Industry veteran Marie Murphy is departing Razorfish to join as creative director, Portland.

The agency plans to hire as many as 40 creative, technical and account staff for the Portland office in the coming year. This will nearly double the agency's headcount, currently totaling 50 staffers working at its other locations.

"Portland is renowned for its independent spirit, talented workforce and outstanding quality of life. We are looking forward to being a part of this community,” said agency CEO Cheryl Pia.

PIA will occupy two floors at 115 SW Ash Street in the New Market Theater building, located in the historic Old Town-Chinatown district of Portland.
