In April, White Castle
inked a two-year agreement with USA Luge.
The fast-food brand became the first U.S. fast-food brand to be an official USA Luge partner, and title sponsor of the White Castle USA Luge Slider Search, the off-season program that recruits young athletes (ages 9 to 13).
The sponsorship couldn’t be more apt, what with White Castle being famed for its iconic Sliders, and athletes who luge also being called “sliders.”
Now, White Castle and the association are driving awareness of the sport and boosting the recruitment effort with a “Be A Slider” contest.
The grand prize winner and a guest will get a three-day trip to the 2018 USA Luge Fantasy Camp at USA Luge’s headquarters in Lake Placid, N.Y., next April, to experience what it takes to be a luge athlete. The prize also includes a GoPro to capture footage during the experience, and White Castle-branded merchandise.

The contest can be entered through Jan. 31 by visiting BeASlider.com, uploading a selfie, and completing a simple creative challenge, such as creating a song lyric that “describes your love for White Castle and luge” or making up a catch phrase to shout while “zooming down the luge track.”
Fans are being encouraged to share their submissions, using #BeASliderContest.
