Carat USA has appointed Angela Steele as Chief Strategy Officer.
According to the agency, Steele will be responsible for further developing Carat’s product and technology strategies. She will have oversight of the Insights, Strategy and Innovation teams and help cultivate Carat’s culture and talent.
Steele will report to Michael Epstein, CEO of Carat USA.
“Angela is a seminal talent, and we’re excited to have her in the role of Chief Strategy Officer,” stated Epstein.
Epstein added that Carat “is making a strategic pivot to marketing based on true person-based identity rather than proxies,” and is doing so via the Dentsu Aegis Network M1 platform rolled out earlier this year and person-based data science capabilities being integrated across the agency.

Steele, a 20+ year industry veteran, joins Carat from parent Dentsu Aegis, where for the past two years she’s been global product lead on the General Motors
account. In this role, she integrated the network’s capabilities to serve GM across 50 markets globally for eight flagship brands.
Prior to joining DAN, Steele served as
CEO at Ansible, Interpublic Group's mobile agency.
Steele’s appointment follows several other leadership changes at the agency, including the promotion of Ed Gorman to
Client President, U.S., Haley Paas to Head of Strategy and Insights and Sarah Stringer, to Head of Innovation.
The appointment also follows recent new business growth for Carat, including being named media agency of record for both Jack in the Box and Intuit earlier this year.
