AnalogFolk Expands To Shanghai

AnalogFolk is opening a new office in Shanghai, China, the sixth in its network and second in Asia.

The independent digital creative agency network has established a solid client base in Asia out of its Hong Kong office where clients include Steelcase, Kansai, Pernod Ricard and Swire. It hopes to continue that momentum with the opening of its second Asia office.

AnalogFolk Shanghai will be led by managing director and partner Wayne Fan and creative director and partner Tommy Liou. Fan has 23 years of agency experience in China working for WPP agencies Ogilvy & Mather, JWT, and Isobar. Liou brings more than 18 years of creative experience, previously serving as executive creative partner at Cheil Worldwide, Beijing, where he focused primarily on the Samsung business.

Both executives will report to Chris Ryan, managing director and partner, AnalogFolk Asia and Harry Llufrio, executive creative director and partner.

The new office launches as strategic partner to Pernod Ricard's Jacob’s Creek to serve as an extension of the brand’s existing global relationship with AnalogFolk’s Sydney office.

Shanghai opens with 10 employees, while the agency has ambitions to eventually expand it to more than 250 workers, similar in size to its UK shop.  Since the agency's launch in 2008 in London, AnalogFolk has added locations in New York, and Portland as well as the previously mentioned Sydney, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
