Nylas, a provider of APIs for email, calendars and contacts, has raised $4 million in funding. 8VC is increasing its initial investment in the firm.

Founded in 2013, Nylas plans to use the financing to grow its team, expand its reach and invest in its API products.

The firm’s objective is to “allow software developers to maximize the value of their applications without diverting engineering resources or slowing time to market,” states CEO Gleb Polyakov.

The company claims it has synced over 100 terabytes of data from more than 15 billion emails. It adds that its APIs can be integrated with all email service providers, and with SaaS applications.
