M&S Chief Executive, Steve Rowe, had told
Campaign that he is not blaming the retailer's Christmas campaign featuring Paddington, coinciding with the launch of the Paddington 2 movie.
Food sales were down 0.4% while clothing and home sales slipped 2.8% in the final quarter of the year. Instead a poor October shoulders most of the responsibility, Rowe believes.
