NBC U. Roadblock Will Make You Gape, Features A Big Ape

NBC Universal will run the Universal Pictures' trailer of its upcoming "King Kong" as an advertising roadblock across all its networks in prime time on June 27.

All nine of NBC Universal's broadcast and cable networks will air the two-minute 30-second teaser trailer at 9 p.m. NBC estimates that 109 million viewers will see the trailer. The roadblock will be promoted across all NBC Universal properties.

NBC's and Telemundo's stations will also get other cross-channel promotional components, including exclusive behind-the-scenes action from the movie after the premiere of the trailer. On Tuesday, June 28th,"Access Hollywood" will also air the trailer.

The "King Kong" trailer will also air on NBC Mobile, on the Sprint PCS network. Also on June 27, the trailer can be viewed on Jumbotron screens in New York's Times Square, in Orlando, Florida at Universal Orlando's CityWalk, and in Universal City, California at Universal Studios Hollywood's CityWalk.

Volkswagen, which has an overall multimillion-dollar corporate deal with NBC Universal, will get an exclusive online window for airing the teaser trailer on its Web site (www.volkswagen.com) beginning 15 minutes before the TV debut that evening.

"Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson is directing the new "King Kong" movie. The remake of the classic movie stars Naomi Watts, Jack Black, and Adrien Brody. It will open in theaters worldwide on December 14, 2005.
