Mimecast Names Levesque And French To New Security Posts

Mimecast Limited, an email and data security firm, has named Janet Levesque as senior vice president of systems, risk and security, and Marc French as chief trust officer. Both are newly created positions.

Levesque will oversee Mimecast’s internal technology application, security, infrastructure and risk teams.

French will pursue  a global strategy to build customer confidence in Mimecast products and services. He has also been named Mimecast's data protection officer, and will lead the company's efforts to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Levesque has 25 years of experience in information technology, security, technical audit and risk management.

In her most recent post, she was the chief information security officer at RSA, the security division Dell/EMC. She also served as CIO of Aspect Software, where she built the firm’s security and compliance program.

Prior to this, French was chief security of Constant Contact, which was acquired by Endurance International Group, where he served as chief security officer. Previously, he served in senior security rules at EMC, RSA Iron Mountain, Digital Guardian, and Dun & Bradstreet.

Mimecast seeks to align its services with “new privacy policies and cyber resilience requirements that are challenging organizations today, like GDPR, Australia's Notifiable Data Breach regime, and POPI requirements in South Africa,” states Mimecast CEO Peter Bauer.

The company serves 28,200 customers throughout the globe, providing cloud-based security, archiving and continuity services to facilitate email risk management.
