Comcast Corp., with the appointment of Dana Strong, now has a head of overall consumer services for all its residential products.

The cable/communications company announced that Strong will be president of consumer services, responsible for all its residential business for Comcast Cable.

This will include Comcast’s Xfinity brand and products, including its video, broadband, voice, home and mobile services as well as the consumer sales and marketing, digital, Xfinity.com and data research groups.

Heads of all individual residential businesses will report to Strong, who will report to Dave Watson, president/chief executive officer of Comcast Cable.

Strong comes from Liberty Global’s Virgin Media group, where she was president/chief operating officer, responsible for growth across the company’s consumer business unit, which included its broadband, video and voice businesses.

In addition, she was senior vp/chief transformation officer at Liberty Global, where she worked to to gain growth, with 27 million customers in 14 countries.

Before this, she was chief executive officer of UPC Ireland, which is now Virgin Media Ireland, and chief operating officer of Austar United Communications in Australia.
