Latest Incarnation Of 'Trump Magazine' Relaunches

Donald Trump loves putting his name on things: buildings, casinos, golf resorts, a “university” and yes, magazines.

On February 9, using his father’s favorite communications medium, Eric Trump told Twitter he had news, described as #HotOffThePress. He announced an internal promotional publication, Trump magazine, which features Trump International Hotel in D.C. on its cover.

It carries the tagline: “Live Luxury, Never Settle.”

That particular venue, Trump International Hotel, located less than a mile from the White House, has come under fire as a possible violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution, since the property does business with foreign governments.

Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, told the AP the pub was developed “for our owners, members and guests. It is not intended for general public distribution.”

It's worth noting that Trump has launched his eponymous magazine three times.

Trump Style debuted in 1997, a freebie for residents at Trump properties. Then, according to the Guardian, it had a quasi-relaunch as a for-profit pub called Trump World, which closed after two issues.

In 2004, the company tried again with Trump magazine, which lost $3 million, then was reborn in 2006 with the motto “Think Big. Live Large.” It did neither; paychecks began bouncing, per Politico, by the fourth issue and the magazine and website closed the following year.
