Trump Campaign Uses Photo Of Shooting Survivor In Fund-Raising Email

An email blast sent by President Trump’s reelection campaign on Saturday featured a photo of the Parkland School shooting survivor Madeleine Wilford.

The 17 year-old was photographed in her hospital bed, with the President and First Lady Melania Trump in attendance, CNN reports.

"The nation has turned its attention to the senseless school shooting in Parkland, Florida," the email reads.

"Trump is taking steps toward banning gun bump stocks and strengthening background checks for gun purchasers," it says. "The President has made his intent very clear: 'making our schools and our children safer will be our top priority.'"

Included in the email is a link for making contributions to the campaign, according to CNN.

Critic Matt McDermott tweets: “Unbelievable: the Trump campaign just sent out an email using the Parkland shooting, including photos of survivors, to raise money for his reelection campaign.”

According to reports, the email did not mention the President’s call for arming teachers.
