Nest To Debut Ad In Oscars That Taps Into Gender Debate

Nest, the connected home technology platform is launching a campaign in this Sunday’s Oscar’s telecast to promote its newest product, Hello, a video camera doorbell. 

The Oscars spot, from Deutsch, is titled “Prom Night” and addresses the topic of how men treat women in society, a topic that’s been widely debated and discussed in the aftermath of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harrassment scandal. 

The ad tells the story of a parent teaching a teenager how to treat women (and everybody really) with respect, a value that begins at home.
